WIB's annual Defining Her Future: A Young Professionals Conference premiered in April 2015 with the mission to provide an opportunity for Cal Poly students campus-wide to connect, learn, and grow as leaders together.

This amazing and immersive event will feature networking opportunities with inspiring industry professionals, executive breakout panels, and the opportunity to acquire skills that help you grow as a leader in your personal and professional life. It is free and open to students from all majors, backgrounds, and identities.

Our Defining Her Future Conference is WIB’s largest event of the year and also is the largest student-run event on Cal Poly’s campus. DHF brings in around 500 attendees annually. This year is extra special in that we are so excited to be celebrating both WIB and DHF’s 9th anniversary! 

The theme this year is PERSIST! This theme encourages us to acknowledge our capacity to overcome any adversity that comes our way. It highlights how persistence embodies determination, perseverance, and resilience when confronted with challenges or obstacles.

Our vision for this event is to provide an opportunity for students to connect, learn, and grow from inspiring role models across a wide range of identities and industries. Our speakers and panelists were selected for their diverse experiences, expertise in tools used to overcome challenges, and testimonies to empowerment in the workplace.
